A two day condensed Preparatory Course designed to assist and inform students in the topics covered within the Coordinate Measurement Society’s (CMS) Level-One Certification for 3D Metrology. The course consists primarily of class discussion spurred by a Power Point presentation. Question and answer sessions will take place during the course to ensure knowledge and understanding.
Class takes place 9-3 on Tuesday and Wednesday. Exams are offered on Thursday. If you intend to take the Certification Exam after the class, you must apply for the Exam via the normal CMS webpage, Professional Certification for Metrologists (cmsc.org). You are urged to begin the acceptance process as early as possible. Additional costs apply for exam registration.
The course reviews the test’s five broad areas of knowledge. · Interpreting engineering documents · Measurement Device knowledge · Measurement Planning · Measurement Operations · Data Analysis and Ethics
Aims & Objectives Encourage best practices through discussion and example questions Improve test performance · Describe test and conditions · Freshen knowledge of subjects student doesn’t use on a daily basis · Identify and address gaps in knowledge · Review GD&T, SPC, and uncertainty · Review documentation and planning
